The focus is on Rugby League charities this week with the return of Super League’s Tackle the Tough Stuff round – and Keighley Cougars provided the perfect launchpad on Sunday afternoon.
The Cougars had a focus on mental health for their Betfred League One clash against Rochdale Hornets through their partnership with It's Worth Talking About.
That theme was developed and broadened in partnership with Rugby League Cares, the sport’s official charity – who chose Cougar Park as the first step of their Charities Week roadshow.
And the feelgood factor was tangible as Keighley welcomed a crowd of more than 1,800, and the Cougars continued their impressive form by winning an entertaining encounter against the Hornets.
The roadshow rolls into Batley on Monday night for the Betfred Championship game between Craig Lingard’s Bulldogs and Adrian Lam’s Leigh Centurions – live on Premier Sports.
RL Cares will then partner with Super League’s Tackle the Tough Stuff round as the roadshow moves on to Warrington on Thursday for the derby against St Helens, followed by Salford v Castleford on Friday, and the Hull KR v Catalans Dragons match which is being shown live on Channel 4 on Saturday lunchtime.
